Christianity Is…About Me!

Many people don’t understand the Bible. They think it  is too hard to read. They claim it doesn’t speak to them — as if it were only written for a special kind of person. They blame the Bible.

Have you ever asked yourself, “How did I come into being? What am I doing here? Where am I going?” When you try to find the answer in yourself or in the world around you, your personal destiny remains a mystery.

Now ask the same questions in light of the Word of God. Stand in awe of the way God created the world, including you. You are not an accident. You are special in God’s sight with a living, immortal soul. Watch in horror as sin enters the world. The tragic consequences affect everything, including you.

Do you get sick? Are you ever unhappy? Will you die? You can learn why you have problems by reading the Bible.

Do you sit in church and yet miss the point? Don’t you realize God is talking to you? He eagerly desires to share some wondrous news with you.

Through Jesus’ perfect life and innocent death in your place, you are forgiven. When you trust in Jesus, you become a new person with a happy, eternal future.

Christianity is not a set of rules to follow, or a foreign language to be memorized for some mystical divine grade. It is the message of God himself, how he deals with people, and why he loves them in spite of their sins.

The message of Christianity is God’s love through his Son Jesus Christ. “God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Do you see that italicized word? Then you should be able to say, “Christianity is about me!”
